Tomtom help ..driving me mad

Hi all
I just bought a tomtom sat nav, it's a 'start 25' , as back up for my iPad sat nav , for my planned trip to Germany tomorrow ....I've downloaded the programme so that you can update your maps etc but it asked me to create an account ...simple I thought ..email address done, password done, password check done , first name done, second name done, gender done, UKdone ..click 'create an account..done..then it says 'account creation failed' ????? Doesn't highlight anything wrong ...I've done his a million times already ...if I can't creat an account I can't update the sat nav .....has anyone had this problem ???? And if so how did they rectify it ??? I've tried using different email address , using different password ..even put my self in as male ! But still 'account creation failed ' ...before I return the device for refund...any one help or anyone have a tel number for tomtom as there no email or phone tch support anywhere. TIA
 
Ok, found this number ...called them and apparently there is a technical sever issue that prevents anyone from creating an account or logging in to an exsisting account ...which should be fixed today ..ill try again later to create an account...so if your having trouble like me ...this is why ..apparently !
 
Sorry to say......I had nothing but trouble with my Tom Tom account.
Ran up £100 in WiFi overtime charges trying to install the latest widows 10 update,
Due to a corrupt file in my Tom Tom account.
Getting a Garmin next time.
