We spent a couple of nights here, the Aire was on a closed down Municipal Campsite all facilities free , it was all clean but run down, Tomar is a lovely town surrounded by rivers and water features, a super parkland and Castle well worth a few days exploring , the aire was a good place to catch up on the washing as there were the typical deep stone Portuguese sinks with scrubbing boards built in and lots of washing lines on the site to dry the clothes, Such fun I hear you say hee hee, but it has to be done.

Totally agree with Vindiboy Tomar is a super spot ( could be biased as I live there) but also the surrounding area is certainly well worth a visit for a few days.

Those concrete "washing machines" can be quite fierce. First time I used one I also used a scrubbing brush against the scrubbing board....wore through Dave's boxers!
We live near Tomar, it is lovely!
