Toilet Trouble - Rapido

Hi All,

We picked up our new MH just before xmas and had a trouble free drive through France and Andorra to Spain. We only had one snag and that was the Toilet light didn't come on once it was nearly full. On investigation I noticed that the light had it's wires removed (or Not connected), and there were no wires loose that could be attached to the light.

When looking at the Toilet cassette there doesn't seem to be any sort of connection on it that would be able to send power to the light to inform you it was getting full.

I would have thought that the cassette should have some sort of float and electrical contacts? Does this mean I've the wrong cassette is in there?

I don't have a hand book or wiring diagram so any knowledge on this that you can give me will be a great help.

Regards Poco Loco

MH is Rapido 785F 2003

Hi Pocco Locco
normally the cassette itself works from a magnetic sensor so there will be no wires to the cassette, is it an electric flush toilet if so the light should take its power from the leasure battery and the wires you have found could be for an inline fuse holder that is missing ( only a thought though not certain )

I've never seen our cassette light come on, it normally gets emptied well before it's full so it doesn't bother me whether it works or not.

There's a magnetic float swith in the tank, with a reed switch on the external body. When the light comes on you have VERY few uses & flushes left! It's also quite heavy at this stage to carry and empty. I now use half the recommended amount of Blu and empty when only half full, 'cos sods law says if you leave it until the last second it will be full when you get up to use it in the middle of the night and it WILL be raining!

My MH has an indicator (Red an Green) as it fills it moves from green to red. I of course never take notice of it as I empty out on a daily basis. We only use ours to pass water, and use public toilets for the other. We are so organised over years of travelling we know exactly where all facilities are.
