Firstly My motorhome has the Thetford C250 loo,the one with the waste tank on wheels.
It is an 18 litre tank. Is it interchangeable with the tank on the C200? I am looking at ways to extend loo use when wilding.
I am going to Glastonbury this year and would like to extend use then. Because of my years I have to pee 3 to 4 times per night, would a bucket with some type of water absorbing granules be of use? maybe cat litter? I would use a bucket in the shower.
I would be relieved to hear your suggestions and comments

Do what AJ does and hes of, shall we say those later years. He wears a Nappy:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I use a 5L bucket with lid, lined with a bin bag and natural cat litter made from pine wood shavings or something........does a great job, then just pull the bag out and bin it...

Just open the door a couple of inches and hey presto.:)

Everybody else must do it because it is always muddy there. Even when there has been no rain.

I know someone (not me!!) who just uses an empty mineral water bottle or even a spare jerrican marked with an 'X' so they don't get muddled with the clean water supply. Keep it simple.... :D

Why not buy a spare tank?

Expensive that, mine is a Thetford and the tank is over £100 now. I always lock the flippin door now as I can see someone nicking it if they broke their own.

This is a constant issue with 4 of us in the van, every morning we have to empty the thing.

At glasto I would just empty your tank into one of the loos on site.

Its easy enough on sites, when we are wilding as a previous thread we empty when we can and if the worst comes to the worst dig a deep hole and empty it in :eek:

Would I have a second spare tank? no way, where would you keep it? and if you had a spillage you would never get rid of the smell and stain.

Water is also a constant pain as we can go through a tank in a day. Its not easy to explain to a 7 year old and a 3 year old that the taps and toliet aren't like the ones in the house, they are getting better though, I'm making Joe help fetch water on site now, he doesn't flush 2 pints of water into the loo each time he has a pee now :)

At least you are teaching them the value of enviromentaly freindly ways of living. If i am going to stay somewhere for a good few days we have 3 5 gallon plastic containers we fill also.We ran out of leccy first!!:D

If it's yellow then let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down.

We use a smaller sprayer to "flush" pee, it has "aqua rinse" in it, for pleasant smell? We are going over to washing liquid when it runs out (much better smell!).

Train them young getting the water! Worked fine until mine discovered girls! But if you don't get water you don't get paid.

While we a on the subject of loos-how many woman empty the cassette? I was on a site the other week, doing just that and a bloke commented on how rare it was to see a woman on loo duty. It's who ever turns the light on.

I do it - he'll do anything/everything else but that.

But then I rod the loo at home too if it gets blocked. Aren't equal opportuntities just wonderful?

Funny enough I get to do the rodding as well, John just sort of pointed at the very full manhole "it's blocked", he then dropped the end of the drain rods into it! So I had to lay on the ground, upto my armpit to retreive the rods (this happened just a few weeks ago).

Men!

Thats a job i have to do,but now you have reminded me about equal opportunities, things are going to change............:D
