Hi all what are you using for toilet fluid the Thetford stuff seem to be not good for the environment and if it makes contact with the skin you rock the blue smurf look are there better bio alternatives?

A spoonfull or two of bio washing powder works 100% and thats what most folk use.

Aldi bio tabs, or the green fluid when they have it on offer. The poo box niffs a bit but you are not paying a fortune for it to smell like a boudoir and a quick spray soon clears the air

Read the instructions on the fluid you choose and the try HALF the amount, if it works , try 1/4 .
The recommendation is sufficient to guarantee no complaints when you are on holiday in a hot summer climate and then don't empty the loo very often so in winter or cooler places you will need MUCH less, possibly only 1/10th.

I use Elsan Herbal Green Elsan Herbal.jpg It is formaldehyde-free and very kind to Johnny Polar Bear

I use half the recommended dose because it never gets more than half full as i empty the cassette every day unlike the dirty people who leave it weeks before emptying :scared:

My local accessory shop in Todds Motorhomes Todds Motorhomes sells it at £8.99 for 2 litres, cheaper than anywhere else i found

As this, there are formaldehyde free alternatives, we use 'Nature Calls'.

I used the Thetford sachets. Green or blue depending on the location. Very easy and no smurf look.

A little more expensive than bio wash tabs, but the extra cost comes out of the kid's inheritance.

Living abroad I find it almost impossible to find bio washing powder or tablets what other recommendations do members have? Is ordinary washing powder o.k.?
