Time to get the printer out and fix the fridge door shelves

Got fed up with the fridge door shelves falling off the door and depositing everything on the floor. It got that bad we just took the shelves out altogether but then we missed them. Had a look last week and realised one of the major problems was the sides didn't have any support so they would bend in and the shelf would then fall off. So strengthening pieces for the corners helped but still not great so joined them together with a support in the middle. You cannot pull them off the door now but they lift off for cleaning. More brownie points

Nice job, can you write the code or do you download it ?
I used FreeCad for the design, I have been playing with FreeCad for a couple of months. Built the printer from a kit. Got to keep the brain going. I have adjusted the model so it prints on my printer not worked out how to adjust the printer yet.

I bought a set of 3d printed shelves from fleabay a couple of years ago and they are still going strong. Much better than the original flimsy ones and a lot stronger. Can’t remember the site but a quick tinternet search should help. I did post the details here after I got them so maybe search here?

Yes totally agree. The white eBay ones are fantastic. It’s just a shame that they don’t make the shelves too as they are so fragile and I am fed up with plastic welding them.
So expensive to replace too.

From your post on Motorhomer.

I will use these people if they do a shelf for my fridge, thanks.

i have a set from 3d printers bought the bottom one about 3 years ago ( i sent him the original as a model ) although dear it was still cheaper than getting a proper Dometic replacement and so much more solid as soon as i saw the quality i sent off for the other two door shelves 👍
