Thule / Omnistor Safari Room - Brand new For Sale - Don't know how to find out which

Hello,

I am hoping that someone can help me please. I am new to the forum and motorhomes so apologize if i have put this in the wrong section but I do want to sell an item but am not sure what model it is.

My Father bought a brand new motorhome a couple of years ago which turned ut to be entirely unroadworthy even though it was new, you name it is was wrong with it or broken, to cut a long story short he rejected the motorhome under Trading Standards and went via the Courts to claim and eventually won a full refund as the motorhome was so shoddy. Despite winning a refund on the cost of the motorhome other accessories purchased for it separately were not re-imbursed.

My Father had bought loads of extra's for the motorhome one of them being a brand new Thule / Omnistor Safari Room, my Father has since died and the Safari Room was never used as the motorhome was returned to the suppliers.

I am clearing his Summerhouse and have found the brand new Safari Room and poles but I have no idea as to what version/model it is, if someone knows a way of finding out I would be very grateful if they could let me know. I will then be able to advertize it correctly on here.

Hi Lisa,

I don't have one of these.


Somewhere on the fitting should be a label stating the make which you know and the model type and from what I have seen they are described by the length I/e 2.5 = 2.5 meters.

So if no label, measure the length and do a web search with name & length on the manufactures site or just a google and the info you require should be available.

I expect the name and length plus a description would be good enough for an advert you could send interested parties photos to make it clearer.

I hope this helps a bit, someone wil be along who knows more than me if I'm way out with the advice.

Hi Boots,

Many thanks for your help, we have just managed to pull all of the awning out and check it but there's no label anywhere on it at all, so we have done as you said and taken the measurements swiftly as surprise, surprise it has just started raining here yet again! Where has our Summer gone to again? (

Now I just have to see if I can find if my measurements match any of the models, if I get stuck I may be back again )

Thule/Omnistor Safari Room Brand new For Sale Don't know how to find out which model

Hi,
I have tried to find out what model of Safari room my Father bought but am having trouble tying it up to a specific model.

I have rough sketched a diagram showing the front and side measurements in the hope that someone can help me out. I am not sure whether I should have included the weatherproofing grey bottom strip in the measurements as well as we didn't think to measure those.

The safari room that I have consists of one front panel and 2 side panels plus all of the poles etc but non tent pegs, the awning does have all of the brand new rubber inserts for the tent pegs.

Front panel : 3 metres 20 cms wide by 1 metre 70 cms high

2 side panels : Roof width on diagonal 2 metres 30 cms
Height at rear 2 metres 40 cms
Height at front 1 metre 80 cms

Sketch attached - we stupidly didn't measure the bottom width of the side panels as it had started to rain and we have nowhere to dry it out if it got wet. If needs be I will have to wait for a dry day when I'm not working and re-measure according to suggestions on here.

From reading on-line it sounds as though the awning should have something called a windslip, it looks to me like some sort of groundsheet but this isn't with the awning so I don't know if that is a problem or not when it comes to selling it.

Any help would be very gratefully received.
