Hoping to travel over to the north yorkshire this weekend anyone have any suggestions for suitable wildcamping sites around Richmond or Thirsk preferably with a pub not to far away.Had a look on the forum but those listed are a couple of years old(may now be out of date) any ideas,Thanks Andy.
 
Thanks for the suggestion but looking for some good weather think Yorkshire is my best bet another time

hi andy did you find anyware as we are going up in the morning?
 
I know it's a bit further south than you suggested but if you come off the A1 at the A59 junction and head towards York there is a very large, off the road layby on your right immediately after the BP garage at Kirk Hammerton. It is shielded from the road by trees and is next to the garage, a farm shop and a Thai restaurant. Hope you have a lovely weekend over here :)

Hi Arthur, this post was back in June i think used a picnic site for 2 nights 3 miles from Pateley bridge on the b6265.Donation box on entrance gate suggested donation £5,may be a tight squeeze through the gate for larger vans ok in my van(21 feet)spent 2 quiet nights there.Have a look at my post for 1/7/08 there are some photos of the picnic area ,would definetly use same place again,Andy:)
 
Hi Eldiva,know exactly where you mean but i prefer to stay in picnic sites rather than near main roads think it may be noisy with the traffic so nearby but thanks for the suggestion,Andy;)

Have you considered a Pub stopover;), Andy, I dont know if you,ve seen this one, but looks ok:):cool:

Cheers Lenny have spotted this one before,at work this weekend anyway spent last weekend at Stanwix park,Silloth with grandaughter had a great weekend third time there this year.Might be able to sneak one in before October maybe the halloween meet at Hayfield:eek:Hows Connor hope he is on the mend:)Andy.

Hiya Arthur, let us know if you decide on a location for this weekend, I may just join you,I,m working early in the morning ,but hope to be finished by lunchtime:rolleyes::)
