Thetford toilet wiring problem

Hi all,we finally had enough time to start checking out the heating, boiler, water, electrics etc.
Everything seemed fine apart from the toilet which would not flush, obviously we had water on board as we were checking the boiler worked, so I opened the cupboard in the bathroom to locate the electrics and the attached pics show what I found.

The wires coming in from the bottom left are for the toilet, does anybody know where the stray wire goes? I'm assuming this is why the toilet will not flush.

I've tried pushing it onto the vacant connector but it made no difference, the fuse by the way is fine.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Rich and Sarah.

Looks like you've got a 'loop in point' for various other circuits. The twin flex (red striped blue) hanging down from upper left looks like a 'foreigner'; has a previous person done some mods here ?.
Return (earth) is the obvious looking connection from the bog system; 1 return from the pump. The "no cassette inserted" detector is usually just single pole in the live line. So why don't it work if the loose wire is earthed ??.

Just looked at photos again !; it doesn't work 'cos the 'spare' isn't connected to anything. Try touching onto another Blue on the connector block.

Had the same problem, the fuse looked ok but on close inspection found a thin film of corrosition on the two blades of the fuse, changed the fuse cleaned the female connection of the fues holder and all worked ok, I hope this helps.

I always find it hard to believe when I see how poorly some Motorhomes are wired up.
Everything just dangling around. This is asking for trouble long term. The wires will just brake at the ends of the crimp connectors over time.

Can't give any specific help in this case, but I wouldn't just "touch another blue" without checking with a multimeter first. You don't want to touch live and live and then seachr find the fuse you may have blown. Just my opinion.

And while you are at it, secure the loom somehow with a p-clip to stop them dangling around. Even a strip of gaffa tape will buy you some time

Hi thanks for your reply, the foreigner is actually coming from the tap in the bathroom! Will try to touch the loose blue wire to another blue and see if this helps.
