Thetford C200 Cassette

The blade driver / arm mechanism on my C200 cassette is broken. I've already fixed it once with superglue, but it's failed again. It seems the part I need to repair it is discontinued... So it's probably going to make sense to just replace the whole cassette, if anybody has one available at a fair price?

Had the same problem. Phone Leisure Spares at Boroughbridge, tel 01423 320009. Found them very helpful. Recommended by Thetford. It will be an awful lot cheaper to replace the mechanism than the entire cassette and a very easy job. They also have a website, Leisure Spares.

Part not available, even from Leisure Spares (although they were very pleasant when I called in to see them!)

This is the offending item:

I'm trying another repair using Super Steel, so we'll see how that goes.

If anyone does have a spare cassette at a good price, I'm probably still interested...

Super glue the two parts again. See if there is a better product than Super glue. Once that is set, get two pieces of plastic wide enough to cover the split part. One top and one bottom and Super glue them over the split. This should give it extra body and support. Make sure the thickness of the plastic does not obstruct any other parts when turning the lever. Just a thought. You got nothing to loose in trying it.

Well, my super-steel repair lasted all of two days... :sad:

So, a quick phone call to Thetford, followed by a visit to their offices in Sheffield and they GAVE me a complete replacement blade mechanism, free of charge :bow: Just fitted it this evening, so hopefully that's it as good as new...

Top quality customer service from Thetford there, methinks!
