There is a light in the fridge!

We have a Dometic RM7401L fridge and today after 3 years of ownership I discovered that it has an internal light but no bulbs in it. It seems that these special type bulbs are no longer available but Dometic now offer a replacement LED unit for £50 or so.
Well I just so happened to have a spare G4 2w LED bulb to hand so I just bent the prongs over to fit and it works just great and is a very cheap and easy fix for anyone with the same issue.
I best not mention that previously we had used a torch before sticking a battery light to the inside of the door!

Great but are you sure it goes out when you close the door.............. just inducing a little paranoia...... Actually love the fix, I seem to spend most of my life getting around problems like that and when it works it is most satisfying.

I think I've got about 5 videos actually. After finding out the light stays on, I then wondered for how long. So kept putting phone in for longer and longer periods. Got fed up in the end.

But does it stay on when it knows I'm not videoing?

Yup, that's the first thing I did, it goes off at 1/2" door gap.

Full-timing in lockdown I've been fixing all those niggling bits in our motorhome, usually with whatever is to hand.

Yes but it is a shaft of light.

If it rubs it's eyes when you open the door you know the light has just come on.

Me being the clever bunny that i am checked mine using the video feature on my smart phone only to have it confirmed it was working intermittently.

It came on when the door opened and went out when the door closed so ...................... Dear Diedre, is that how it should be or do i have a problem
