When i first moved here in 2003 there was a large picnic shelter at the parking area which looked more like a chalet and had bench seats either side it and could probably seat 30 people or more.
Every year a single decker bus would pull up for the night and set up tents, I think they were from the Czech Republic. This was a cheap holiday for the students several weeks away in the bus and wild camp, speaking to one of the guys that organised this was a teacher who came up with the idea and had been running it for a couple of years. My neighbour had an outside toilet which he gave them the use of and fresh water, we would wander down and join them after they had eaten which involved much drink and music. One of the locker doors when opened this allowed them to pull out an already setup cooking facility and wash area it was a great setup.
