hi there, we are very new to motorhoming and my wife who has severe back problems suffers pain with the constant jiggling and bumps as the van goes along. i have been considering the purchase of a suspension seat like they have in trucks as they appear to have extra springs and even mini shock absorbers. rather worried about the price though, o.k. if they work as advertised, if not , what a waste of money. anyone out there got experience of these seats and can give me advice ?

Hello & Welcome
There like marmite we love em but some hate em;
Our Isri seats are fitted to a man chassis truck and we get on great once you set them up it’s forget they are there until you get a bumpy road, then you are reminded what it would be like without the seats,
It’s a thumbs up from us,
Where are you in the country if we’re passing you are more than welcome to a ride and see how the mrs gets on,
Ps I’ve grown out of my rally driver stage, I’m in the white van man stage now 😄😄😄

i was recovered by a truck whose driver had a fully supported sprung seat because of back problems and he could not do without it.... he did seem to be going up and down quite a bit, but, i suppose you do get used to it..... is there a showroom anywhere you can "try it out" ?

Available from from most commercial factors. You will need an air supply and any good garage could fit it. Not cheap though.

I have suspension seat fitted. I've got mine set about 50KG over my weight, was too bouncy set at correct weight. Will certainly be ordering next van with one, when ever that is.

You could try a commercial vehicle breakers for a second hand one if you find them suitable.

Can these bouncy seats still swivel?

Don't know about other makes or what the procedure is if doing this after market, but from new on a Sprinter if you go for suspension seat they automatically but a lower seat frame/box in, and you can still have swivel seats.

try ebay

They came fitted in my van took a bit of getting used to mine are air ride fantastic for you’re back on long journeys at first my back was fine but my knees were killing me and figured out it wat the constant up and down movement from seats finally found a comfortable setting and couldn’t live without them now.

Been driving trucks all my life, they are brill with no drawbacks as I see it. The amount of bounce can be adjusted on them all. Very few but some do swivel as well.

Another consideration is perhaps retro fit air suspension ? no idea how it compares cost wise

Perhaps his journey in outer space has smoothed out and he has taken time out to read poetry.
