I think it was a glitch with Google. It is working fine now.

same for me - working ok last week but today 'for development only '

Does it have an off line mode for those times you don’t have a good enough signal for data?

No it doesn't, but neither did the old App.

Phil wrote a really clear Help Guide to using the new App. It explains everything about it. Give it a go ! (y)

Phil's also written a support thread for those need additional help. It's worth a read too as it answers other member's questions.

It's really easy. Simply click the 4th heading at the top of this page, called "Location App".

But possibly best to do it after clicking and reading the link in Post 7 above.

What am I doing wrong with my iPad? I just touch the link and l’m there. Was I supposed to install something?

No, you’ve opened it in Safari. If you touch the box with an up arrow (top right) then scroll down to “Add to home screen” you will find it appears just like an app there.

Yes, but that's just a fancy web page.
In my view, an app is something you are meant to install on your device.
Far better to have a web page that is device-independent.
So many "apps" for download are just web browsers in disguise.
In my opinion, you got it right at the third attempt: it's a huge improvement.
