Two questions really what do you do about an idiot who likes to leave bags of dog poo on your car windows even though it’s two steps away from poo bin. Sometimes this complete waste of space likes to smear it across the window screen depends on how kinky they are feeling on any given day šŸ™„
Today it was my turn šŸ™„ā€¦ so my question is :
The car is parked on the road .. I can generally see it from my bedroom windrow however neighbours trees get in way. Bedroom window second one in.
Can I have a camera installed somewhere in the car even though I haven’t got WiFi near the car it might pick up a signal not sure … sorry if it’s a dumb question but I want a camera so I can see what’s going on. I know dog šŸ’©is not the end of the world but honestly its getting really bad round here for idiots !!!

This made me laugh Rob
Straight to the point ā€¦šŸ¤£
I have a door camera actually not a ā€œringā€ doorbell a cheaper version I could give it a try and see if it picks up a signal.
Cheers Rob

Cheap action camera on the dash would do it. Ideally plugged into a power source although they do have batteries.

You can probably pick one up for £10-£20

A dashcam (or similar) with an PIR sensor in the circuit. This will turn on the camera when it detects someone moving near the car. Poke it out of the window for it to work. I used this system in my motorhome and shed until I got CCTV. You can adjust the sensitivity. Just put it inline with the feed to the camera, when the sensor operates, the camera will start recording. If you are using a dashcam, the dashcam will also turn off when the power is cut.

This sensor is what you need: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sensky-Detector-Switches-Distance-Adjustable/dp/B011U1BLRI

I thought that a PIR operated by sensing radiant heat; surely it's not going to work through a car windscreen?
Note 3 in the product description on that link says: " Do not fix it at a place where there is obstructing material (e g. glass, dense clothes) which IR cannot get through."

You put the sensor on the outside (as mentioned in my earlier post).

One of our neighbours from the next street routinely let his dog :poop: outside our house and didn`t pick it up ,so i followed them home to find out where they lived. Now i have three dogs and some EVIL sod left three days dog :poop:outside his house .DISGUSTING.:rolleyes::sneaky:
The best one related to that, a friend at work some time ago kept finding dog doo on his lawn, the days before bagging and binning was normal.

One day he saw the culprit, an old lady with her dog also pulling a shopping trolley (remember those?) He quickly ran to the shed, got a shovel scooped the poop, ran up the road after the lady, opened the lid of the shopping trolley and saying "I believe this is yours" dropped the poop into her shopping trolley.

It never happened again.

See if you can pick your home wifi up on your phone at the car? if you can good chance any wifi cam will. Or one of them cheap tapo type cams that you fit a sd card in placed inside the car most decent dash cams have motion sensing they don't use pir they just sense when the image changes but do drain your battery if left on 24/7 unless your using the car each day. I would think the cheapo cams with sd card sense in the same way my home cctv can along with pir. Could also use a mobile as a hotspot for a wifi cam not looked but might be a cctv app for a mobile that you could leave in the car

I'd be a bit wary of leaving a mobile on view in the car - a recipe for a smashed window and no mobile.

Must have temporarily gone blind! However, is it weatherproof? The description refers only to indoor use.
I had mine sticking out of the motorhome Lounge window and had no problems with it. I think it would be OK in a bit of rain but not in a Monsoon. :giggle:

I don't mean in full view hide it in a box or some clothing or something so the camera can see out. Probably have to do that with a camera anyway so that doesn't get nicked. And do the šŸ’© doing the smearing don't clock onto being recorded.
