We all have our own wants and needs when to comes to choosing the ideal van.

If I tried to break it down into just a few words my van would be;

Self sufficient
compact
versatile
comfortable
reliable

What would yours be?

ditto

If you are including equipment in this thread, I would insist on a fixed gas tank, when you've had one you never want to go back to changing bottles.

Regards Geoff.

never heard that before

Hi. Louby, Can't believe the AA did that to you , however I once rang the samaritans for advice and they hung up on me:eek::confused::D

No problem, just fill at any garage with LPG. Our 70Ltr tank (approx 54Ltr of gas at 80% fill) lasted us for a month's tour with plenty to spare. Actual cost to refill was under £20.

Good question. This is my second van and we wanted to more boxes that suits our needs, even so we occasional say IF only we had????????

Here what our hit list needed to be:

turn around front seats for better space use in the front of the van

4 berth with fixed db to crash out with no messing about

Value for money that was tough one

the normal refinements

So were satisfied with ci cipro meets the needs 90% of the time:D
Previous van was a ci 656 did 23000 miles never let us down once:D

Ideal Van

My Lunar Premier 592 is my second van and am nearly totally satisfied. I wanted solar power, so I had it fitted, I wanted refillable tanks (gas) so I had them fitted, I wanted an alarm I could set while still inside(a must for wild camping), so I had one fitted, I wanted Remis blinds so I fitted them myself. So we are nearly there. Just hope I don't see another nearly perfect van and have to start the whole process again. Can't anyway now pockets are empty.

hi tresrikay
tell me about the alarm you can set from inside, ive often thought of this idea
thanks sundown

With the AA your only allowed six call outs a year, even with their best packages.

Were you trying to sell them something;)

Thats ok, I feel better now I realise that I am younger than you

Hello sundown, My alarm is a sigma fitted by PHLY-AUDIO www.motorhomealarms.co.uk. They fitted it at my home and very proffesional they were too, spent 1/2 a day talked me through and are available by phone should you have probs. I have a key pad on the dash and after entering a number internal sensors are disabled and all exterior points, doors, bonnet, lockers are armed and a flashing l.e.d. fitted either in the headlamp or in my case the reversing light warns all outside when blinds are shut, that alarm is active. Just remember to disarm when you get up or any neighbours will not be happy if you open a door.
