Rgd's Graham.

The two finger salute victory 'v' is attributed to the Agincourt thing in 1415.

The arrow when drawn rested between the middle finger and index finger.

Legend has it that two fingers were shown by the English to the French to prove that they were capable of firing a bow.

Hi, A couple? of years ago a TV program dedicated to tracking down the origin of sayings & gestures claimed that the two fingered salute, particular to the British & its supposed connection with Longbow men only started during early nineteen sixties . However I distinctly remember my history teacher telling us about it at least ten years earler.
