The Bubble Inn - Stenson, recommendation.

We were off this weekend to visit old friends we have not seen for 18 years, who live near Lichfield.
We rang the Bubble Inn, booked a table for a meal and got permission to stay overnight.
Strangely enough, the meals were mainly Greek and the last time we saw our friends was in Cyprus!
I must say, the Bubble Inn was a very nice place to have a meal, and there was a big enough parking place for the m/h.

We only used it as an overnight stop, but there is also the Stenson Lock Cottage Cafe, next to the canal, and a Marina with narrow boats.

We used to have a narrowboat that we kept a couple of miles down the canal from here. Weekends or evenings we would often cruise up the canal to Stenson lock, moor up and have a meal at The Bubble. Back then they did a meal deal - steak and chips plus a bottle of wine for two, for a tenner.

That was about 14 years back mind.

Lovely spot on a summers evening, for a meal and then a stroll up and down the canal, watch/help a few boats through the lock, then back to our home mooring.
