This is a game played in the Orkney Islands Christmas and new year.

It,s called the BA Top side of town push it up (the uppies) to the goal The down side(Donnie's) push it down to the harbour

After the BA touches its goal there is a good fight to name the winner..And its a real honor to be the winner....

they play a similiar game at Ashbourne in Derbyshire on Shrove Tuesday with a large football, no rules wherever the ball go's you play it, rivers whatever, uppers versa's downer's.

Thanks for that. In Orkney its played in the main Streets of Kirkwall all the shops ar boarded up.
