We would like to spend a few days on a mini tour.
We would prefer to avoid balcony type roads.
We do not like steep drops etc but are happy to drive on mountain roads.
Our vehicle os coachbuilt so width is an issue.
I have happily driven on many mountain passes but only the non vertical ones ?
Suggestions welcome please

Make sure you have good brakes, in 2019 we came down through Ardeche Hymer 694 tag axle and had brake fade (fortunately) at the bottom. That said it's a beautiful area and best not follow blindly the sat nav as ours took us up the Col D' Aspen one year and it took me 35 minutes to do 2.5 km in first and second gear. But good luck. 🤯

It’s a beautiful part of France, but it was very scary for me and a few others one year when we were stopped and arrested by Les flics. Admittedly we were slightly fast whizzing around on the bikes, but it was a lot easier when we went a few years ago by MH. Go there and enjoy it.

Looking at maps the N102 would be a safe and fairly easy route
Driving south from Le Puy on the the N98 finally to Montelimar via 102

Nothing scary about the Ardeche gorges or the Ardeche in general at all. Stunning scenery. Good roads generally, plenty of Aires. Best fun I had in the Ardeche was a few hours on a Kayak which we hired just up from Vallon Ponte D'Arc. If there is enough water in the river its brilliant. They pick you up at various points and bring you back in a bus or mini bus.
