The last year has had some real low's and some very positive high's, late 2009 we discovered Mandy had a brain tumour and cancer, she walked into hospital looking and feeling very fit, only to leave after surgery two weeks later paralysed down the left side and being told the illness would kill her.
Just before last Christmas we had a flood that destroyed the ground floor of our home, we spent Christmas and the next 3 months living upstairs and cooking from our caravan parked outside, builders were everywhere doing repairs while Mandy and I travelling the 70 mile daily trip to Addenbrooks hospital for her treatment.
After Mandy's treatment had finished and the builder had put our house back together I took it upon myself to sell my car, caravan, etc. toward the purchase of a Motorhome so Mandy and I could live our dream, most of you have read the Brownhills are Downhills and know the story but while we fought Brownhills I was taken to hospital with a gangrenous burst appendix, I'm still having problems and have to return to hospital on the 13th Jan 2011. Through all the above we have remained positive and at times laughed in disbelief as problem after problem presented itself.
Mandy learned to walk again and is making fantastic progress, our home is back together, we have a half decent motorhome and are looking forward to travels in Europe, our daughter graduated as a teacher and is getting married in August but best of all Mandy had another scan and there is no sign of a cancer. We have made more friends in the last year than we have ever made before but have also learned not to suffer fools. I want to thank people on here for their kindness and generosity (Peter- JohnsCross) and many many others. Happy New Year.
