Tesco 5p off a litre or not if you use the pay at pump option

Hi all,

Just wanted to vent a little steam (in advance of a letter to Tesco). Having spent over £50 on my weekly shop to get my 5p a litre off fuel. I went to fill up the MH this morning on our way out for a weekend of wilding. My nearest Tesco filing station has only 2 pumps where a larger MH can fill up. Now it would seem 'pay at pump', only pumps. When I queried the till operator on how to use the vouchers at these pumps I was told that I could n't and that "I should come at a quieter time and use one of the other pumps". Even after explanation that this was physically impossible, he remained completely unhelpful. So Tesco not have you lost my trade as a weekly shopper, you have also lost my trade at your pumps. Anyone else had similar problems?

Do not use Tesco as they tend to be the last to put fuel down. Where I live Asda and Sainsburys most of the time are cheaper,

tesco at bridgend is down to 1.39 a litre today seems the cheapest arround ,mind you we have an asda but they do not have a forecourt at the branch

When I used to fill up at Tesco every week I had to change the fuel filter twice a year. Don't use Tesco at all now fill up with 20 ltrs of BP and 50 ltrs of rape seed oil at 99p a ltr. Havent had to change my filter in 18 months.

I don't understand why you say the attendant was unhelpful
if his employers have decided to have pumps at different prices and you can't get to the cheap one , what did you want him to do ? he can't change the prices ! charge you less and put the extra in the till out of his own pocket ?

You have misread my original posting the pump price at all pumps is the same. The voucher is to be used at point of sale. My annoyance is: 1. In order to use the voucher the motorist would have to use a 'pay at kiosk' pump' (no signage on the pumps or on the voucher). 2. Use of pay at kiosk pumps at this station by larger vehicles would be very difficult due to the and 'in' and 'out' arrangement and cramped layout.

In my experience of TESCO pumps there are options to pay at the pump or at the kiosk and you have to press a button to select pay ay the Kiosk.

I have had these vouchers and on them they state they are not available at pay at the pump only in the kiosk.
