Teething Problems

So Bessie is not well, don't know what is wrong but not had much luck so far. 1st night out Parked up at Monsal Head, went for a stroll came back and water was everywhere due to the heater leaking. This didn't deter me just put another blanket over me to keep warm as couldn't have heating on. 2nd time out .... after a walk at Flambourgh Head headed to a lay by for the night the gas didn't work. Again just another extra blanket. Last week I decided to book a site just so I could see what a comfy warm night was like..... no not to be had leisure batteries did what ever they did and smelt the place out......still no heat as everything go switched of with the smell .....blankets out, windows open in fact everything open but the door lol... cannot get her in to be sorted until June aaahhhhh. Still not deterred cannot wait until she's fixed so my adventures can start again. Yeh

Oh dear, not an encouraging start but you were out in it anyway :) Monsal Head could have been chilly, did you miss the snow? Look on the bright side, once everything has gone wrong you will have sorted it all out or know what to do, AND, its hopefully getting warmer

Teething problems

Morning, not going to touch her as she is still under warranty. I know it is 5 weeks or more I have to wait but I'm away for two of those. My attitude is I will not be deterred, this is something I want to do and if I have problems at the start then I'm viewing it as a learning curb. Things come in 3's and this is the 3rd and hopefully the last thing to happen for a while.:have fun:

Would get them to swap out the coked batteries at least so you are okay, thats if it is just the batteries and not the charger as well. Apart from that I agree get on and enjoy it :)

When its sorted all I want to do is to be able to go out and use it. Its only 4years old and I can understand that they will have these problems. I blame the pot holes lol it was ok on the drive but the roads are so bad and when I took her to Ludlow, my goodness they were terrible. No avoiding them as my naff sat nav took me down the country roads even through Ludlow itself. only (with help from a very nice gentleman) just got her through the arch, un scathed yah with just an inch either side. Not recommended. But I can see a bright horizon before me and hopefully will be able to join you on some of your adventures with rallies and things.

A big thank you to all at the other end of this. :D

I got a sat nav that I can enter dimensions and weight of my mh in, if I go wrong I will tackle it at the time but if it can steer me clear of most problems I will be happy. Just have to get in the habit of turning it on all the time so it can warn me though, hit a tractor weekend before last going down a road in a village not suitable for caravans, didn't see a sign at the end I went in only other end :(

Only knocked my mirror on his tyre but I do prefer more than an inch clearance each side if possible :)

What?! No Way!!!

I'd maybe expect problems like this with something like our old girl, who is 30 years old, but never with a 4 year old vehicle.

I'd be parking up on the dealers doorstep and insisting they did something about it (but that's just me, not everyone is as stroppy ;) )

You've worked hard, or maybe still working hard, to get the cash together to pay for it.
They've happily taken your dosh so get down there and kick their ass!

You want it sorted yesterday, not today and not tomorrow!! :p :D

Good luck ;)

I'm with Charlie and Marie on this.
You have every right to expect everything to work perfectly. The company you purchased from havn't done basic checks before selling, and then to leave the repairs for weeks........well, they leave me speechless, not that I would be, if it was mine. Good luck.

ONLY 3 Faults on a SWIFT. You are doing well. I had a page of A4 after the first trip out. Dealers are not bothered after you have paid for it :scared: Once they have found the problems then it's getting the parts. We waited 3 weeks for a couple of parts because the FACTORY was on holiday. After we were involved in an accident the Body Shop ordered some parts from Brownhills. We waited and waited and the Body Shop was assured they were chasing them. Then after 6 weeks the Body Shop found out that they had not ordered them in the first place.

Our Dealer insisted that the SWIFT was taken in for a PHOTO SHOOT. Not to do any work just to take pictures so they could get authorisation from SWIFT before they got started. This could only be done during the week Monday - Friday. They would then wait for authorisation and parts to arrive which could take weeks.

Good Luck hope you get it fixed.

Mine well I fixed it myself. At least that way I knew it WAS FIXED  Get yourself a small tool kit with some Fuses, Screws, Duct Tape, Double Sided Tape, Insulating Tape and Glue.

Last week I took my car in for service and first mot. It failed for a leaking rear shocker .No shocker in stock but could be delivered over night and fitted tomorrow under warranty. The main dealer arranged transport and was taken home .At 11 30 the next day I received a phone call telling me my car was ready and 30 minuets later it delivered home .At the moments I have been waiting 4 week's for my motor home dealer just to look at my dead fridge to diagnose the fault then order parts and then arrange repair .it is unbelievable how motorhome dealers treat their customers .

I was chatting to one of the motorhome salesman the other week and said to him "you sell Swift's how do you sleep at night "
His reply was " I don't sell Swift,I just allow those stupid enough to want one to have one !!! "[/QUOTE. that is the attitude of most motorhome dealers hymer or swift , not just the motorhome they are all filled with crap ,trouble is they are made by humanoids that spend most of the day on Mobil phones ,not robot's :I wonder if motorhome sales are still Breaking records after the diesel hate campaign.
