Talbot autotrail chinook 1990-battery problem

Just bought the van and I need a manual to tell me basics.
Problem drove van back where i bought it and had a play with switches in cabin. Next day main battery flat ? Plugged in 230v and thought this may charge main battery but I did not. Got a battery charger and charged main in the meantime 230v still plugged in. main battery charged and I started engine ran it for 10 minutes.
Next day try to start vehicle again with 230v hook still plugged in , ignition light came on then died, main battery flat.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME AS I AM A TOTAL LEARNER TO CAMPERS? HEEEELEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!

Take it back and demand a through induction tour.

I suspect however that you are using the van battery to power the habitation side of the motorhome.
One of the switches you PLAYED with enables you to choose whether to use the van or the leisure battery to power your habation space.
