Hi, whats the deal with driving into Tolouse? Are there any carparks that arent multi storey? I cant see any Aires but have found three campsites. There is a free Aires 25km south with a train station that goes into Tolouse but would it cost me the same as staying on a campsite on the outskirts? Happy to pay for parking if there is any for camper vans and motorhomes, any advice much apprecated, many thanks

We were in Toulouse last week and stopped at the campsite north of the city (camping la rupe) It’s next to the canal so it’s an easy 30min or so cycle ride into the city centre along the canal tow path. As for Toulouse centre itself a lot of it is either pedestrianised or vehicle weight or width limits. With ACSI €18 a night.

Several free public water taps with bottles being filled and drunk by passers by. It was 36 degrees during our visit.

Green parks and open space area that we encountered have car parks with height barriers. Central car parks that we cycled or walked past are underground.

There are no motorhome aires in the Toulouse urban area.

According to a parking app there is the odd fee paying car park without height barriers on the outskirts of the centre with a 20-25min walk in.

Really a lot depends on your vehicle type.

There are 2 small free aires south of the city further out than the campsite:-

Aire Municipale
Allée du Duc de Ventadour
31810 Vénerque
France
GPS: 43°26'0"N 1°26'24"E

Parking E.Leclerc
Allée de Fraixinet
31120 Roques
France
GPS: 43°30'42"N 1°22'9"E

Transport in though would be required.

We stop at Park de la Ramee (for Parkrun) and get the 48 bus to Basso Cambo, then the Metro to Capitole.
