We have a manual hab door step, and I've been meaning to get the buzzer working again for some time. After spending ages searching online for a suitable "press to break" switch without success, it occurred to me that I might be able to bodge a car courtesy light door switch. As soon as I searched for that on fleabay I found myself looking at exactly what the battered and rusted remains of my switch must have originally looked like. A perfect replacement.
I thought this might be useful for anybody with a similar problem (not you posh folk with your electric automatically retracting steps)

in case you have to look again you're searching for a Normally closed momentary push switch (y)

Yes, that's exactly what I spent ages searching for without finding anything that would fit - plenty of miniature ones which would have needed a lot of adapting. Then I found that the original one was a universal courtesy light switch for a car! 😊
