Hi everyone,I've been trying to find info/prices for my 4t van in switzerland,a friend went last year and seems to think its about £25 for a vignette for a fortnight.Does this include all roads?(motorways).Everything I've found so far relates to 3.5t vans.Has anybody been there recently with a 4 tonner?,any info greatly appreciated. Thanks Mick.

Hi there I was there a few weeks ago with my car , you pay when you cross the border (40 euro)
By the way we stopped to go to the toilet and it cost us 3euro each :(:(:(

I think you will be classed as heavy goods & reading from another site you can only buy this when you are in Switzerland. A few years ago we crosses over from Germany for a few days (our van was plated at 4 ton) we weren't asked to buy a vignette so we didn't bother asking. I thought that you only needed it for the motorways, even then some stretches you don't require it as it is the only road you can use. I think I did read somewhere though that heavy goods vehicles require a vignette for all roads but I can't find out any information.

Just come back from Lake Como via the Swiss, our 3.4t motorhome was charged the same as cars which is 40e for 12 calendar months... now if I could only get the sticker off (which THEY stick inside your windscreen) you could have it!

They stand at the border and stare at your windscreen and depending on wether you have this years sticker or not as to which way they wave you thro'! (2010 = Orange)

Being Swiss you can pay in pounds, euros or swiss france - this then covers you for EVERY tunnel and motorway so good value even if like us it's just two one way trips!

Hello
I got one earlier this year.Think it was 39 euros. Its issued for the callender year ie 2010. You buy it at the border. If you buy it in January you get 12 months if you buy it in December you get 1 month.Same price. They don't ask if you intend to use motorways or not. They make you stick it on the windscreen before you can drive away. They are very cleverly made to prevent you passing it on to someone else because they fall to pieces as soon as you attempt to remove them from the screen.
Just bite the bullet and buy one or stay out of Switzerland

Bitting the bullet isn't the problem or paying for it,I used to go through swiss every week with a wagon and drag a few years ago and know how fussy and particular the swiss are. The question was if anybody had taken a 4 ton motorhome into switzerland and how much it costs-day/week/year or per toll.It used to be with hgv you had to declare your entry point any way points and exit point on the road tax forms(ie enter via Basel-way point Zurich-exit ponte ciasso).
