Swift control panel help

Just bought a Swift Suntor 590 and trouble shooting a few issues. Can anyone help please. The controller is showing that the voltage for the engine battery is 3.5 volts lower than it actually is. The batter has been checked at 3 different times with a volt meter and shows no issues, it’s reading 12.5 volts. Can anyone shed any light on this please.

"it's reading 12.5 volts" - the panel or the voltmeter?

The readings are usually lower on the panel then the actual battery due to voltage losses on the cable, but unusual to be that much of a difference.
 
Any idea how I go about that. Can’t see anywhere to do that but I will go look again
 
I presume it has the original Sargent based electrical system fitted? Can you take a photo of the control panel and the Power Box (probably Silver, coud be black).
I doubt very much there are any adjustments you can make. You could try pulling fuse 1 and fuse 2 from the distribution box to remove all power and then refitting them to see it a power-cycle has made any difference.

What is a power box please? And distribution box? Sorry maybe I know them by another name. I suggested disconnecting the main battery and reconnecting but im told by my husband that that’s not a good idea as can make a power spike that can ruin the ECU

Likely examples like these below. In a Swift, they will likely be under a bench seat. (In an Autotrail Motorhome, they are usually in the top cupboard behind the driver)

EC155. This is paired with the EC50/EC51 control panel mentioned in another thread

Or in bigger Motorhomes in 2008, might see something like this one? And the control panel is like the one next to the EC325, but is often branded with a motorhome name

Sargent made units with more configuration later on where you could set parameters and possibly reset things, but back in 2008, the units fitted would have very little configurability. (I have the EC325EC shown above in my 2008 Autotrail)
 
This is my controller in the van and second photo is showing the state of charge. The leisure seems good but the main battery is showing very low. The van started no problem and has been driven back to storage

That's a Nordelettronica NE183. Nord stuff can be a little flakey WRT reliability.
I can't see the issue being anything fixable but rather the board has developed a fault. Just accept it and add 3.5 volts onto what's being displayed.

I’m not bothered about the number that it displays but what it might do if it thinks the battery is dead. As long as it doesn’t go into some sort of emergency mode and cut the battery off

The clue there is the "NE" code on the control panel. That suggests you have a NordElettronica system.

I personally don't know much about those at all other then those with them seem to hate them :(

I think you'll be ok, I've seen other Nord units cut power at 10v BUT that's only in relation to the leisure battery, I don't think they bother monitoring the starter battery voltage, they simply display it.
