Got this as a reply to my suggestion on their survey
Least ways they agreed that £15 was to much

We have received over 700 responses to the consultation, which closed on Thursday 20th of May. As you know, the consultation was to decide whether to proceed with a 12-month pilot scheme to allow self-contained motorhomes to stay at nine South Hams car parks.
After listening to some public concern about four of the proposed locations, these recommendations have now been removed from the pilot scheme. These are: North Sands in Salcombe, Memorial in Slapton and Torcross Tank in Torcross and Quay Car Park in Kingsbridge will all no longer be considered for the trial. The suggested £15 tariff has now been removed along with these sites.
In light of the responses, we will be bringing a different set of recommendations to the Executive to consider. The revised recommdations will only include the following car parks within the pilot scheme and a single overnight tariff of £10.00 will apply:

· Longmarsh Car Park, Totnes

· Leonards Road Car Park, Ivybridge

· Poundwell Meadow Car Park, Modbury

· Park & Ride Car Park, Dartmouth

· Cattlemarket Car Park, Kingsbridge

The results of the public consultation and a report recommending the revised list of recommended sites will now be discussed at the District Council’s Executive Committee on Thursday 27th of May.
You can watch the meeting live on the Council’s YouTube Channel here: www.youtube.com/user/SouthHamsCouncil the meeting starts at 9:30 a.m.

It would be interesting to know what the public concerns were. Maybe the motorhome hire users have given those who own a bad wrap? The car parks removed from the plan are not next to residential areas but near commerce. And the parking fees charged would surely deter those whom locals might consider “not right” (the mattress in the back of a 20 year old rusty white van types?). And the parking fee income would benefit the local community but hey ho.

Are there nearby campsites I wonder?

Good though that they received over 700 responses which would suggest a high level of interest in such a scheme for motorhome users. Maybe other local authorities could note this.

Wonder how many of the 700 were from here ?
I suspect quite a few

I also expect quite a few of the 700 where totally against it
Yes . For some reason I made the assumption that the 700 were all singing from the same hymn sheet
I know in my response I talked about the price . Pretty sure a few on here posted that they had too .
I know some will think £10 too much but I'd like to think we did get the price reduced
Nice to know , sometimes , people [councils] listen

It's about time these Councils got their act together and started providing some forms of parking for MHs. Even trying to park during the day can be a problem in some areas. We tried in Bridlington last week. Only wanted to take the dog on the beach for a bit of exercise. Could not find anywhere to park on the road and too long at 6.4m to park nose in. So bit the bullet and headed for the car park and found a height barrier, plenty of room as it was raining so we went round to the bus park. No way am I paying £4 to park to take the dog on the beach for 1/2 an hour. One beach car park was charging £10 with no overnight parking.
