Given the crap weather we (and France) have had this year I would be heading further south. Maybe the Dordogne and Lot and if there is time across through Aveyron into Provence. Quite a bit longer maybe.

Difficult to make suggestions without knowing what you like. Coast? Riverside? Canalside? Towns? Plus beaux villages?
Running through the 15-day forecast (only checking the afternoon for speed) at https://meteofrance.com/ suggests that there's little point in rushing south any time soon.

The picture which vanished from my first post should have indicated I don't do coast much River & Canals are a go Pb-villages We've visited most of them over the years several before we accidentally discovered them but my legs arn't up to PBV anymore

If taking up Jo001's suggestion of Quiberon, you might also consider the Golfe du Morbihan - a number of wilding spots in the POIs. If you end up going further south, SSW of Rochefort, you have Brouage, which is worth a visit. Otherwise, east of La Rochelle, you have Aigrefeuille d'Aunis and the Lac de Frace. SSE of Ruffec, you have Verteuil-sur-Charente. East of Oradour-sur-Glane is the Lac de Vassivière. North of Bourges, on the D940, you have Aubigny-sur-Nère, which is very proud of its Scottish connections. If you're up to visiting one of the Loire châteaux, Chenonceau is one of my favourites. Between Rennes and Dinan you have Hédé-Bazouges and Tinténiac on the Canal d'Ille et Rance, and if heading for Saint-Malo, Saint-Suliac might be worth a visit if the legs are up to it!

Make sure it’s tour on a Thursday! Set the alarm and go to the flower market, all Parisian shops buy there flowers from tour market on a Thursday morning V.Early

I would visit Oradour-sur-Glane and head south to La Roque St. Christophe. The area had quite a few very interesting dwellings, including rock dwellings cut into the side of a cliff! Then across to Puy de Dome, near Clermont Ferrand. It is no longer an overnight stop, but the trip up the extinct volcano (By train, NOT walking up that!) is fantastic. The restaurant is very good at the top. Then across the Le Puy (Aiguilhe) and the large volcanic rock formations, all with a statue of a church (yes a church!) on top.

But of course, that is a large extension of your journey, but take a look on Google. Something may pique your interest. Happy travels...

Thanks the churches may get us on a detour. Several yrs ago pre motorhome we drove up Puy de Dome when we neared the top the cloud was so thick I had to lean out the door but could still see no further than the front of the bonnet. When we reached a level spot we got out and our friends who had been before didn't know where we were eventually we found the cafe for safety I left the indicators on on the car
