Suggestions for Scotland

Hello All,
We are planning a trip to the Outer Hebrides, catching a ferry from Oban. Our problem is that we are travelling on Whit Bank Holiday so campsites want a 3 night stay and we only want one night. So if we get really stuck can anyone suggest a good, safe, wild camping spot, not too far from Oban. I've noted those listed, but wondered if there where any more. Need to feel very safe as we are 2 females and not wild camped before. :(
Thanks
Jules

Hello Julie

don't know that part closest I have been to there is Fort William but you could check this site out http://www.motorhome-list.org.uk/stopovers...topovers_uk.htm and check out Scottish part. I have always found the people over the boarder exceptionally friendly including the boys (and girls ) in blue. A couple of times they have pointed me to great stop overs, and kept a weary eye on us

sorry i'm of no greater help

enjoy your trip

Whitsun is not a holiday in Scotland so I don't think you'll have to take 3 nights. Anyway, there are loads of places to park in the centre of Oban, including the ferry terminal parking. Your best bet is to ask at the police station. They're very helpful and will probably keep a discreet eye on you during the night!

Thanks for the info, doesn't look like I'll have too much to worry about.
Scotland here I come

There are some designated parking places for motorhomes on one of the main council car parks in Oban( The oneto Tesco's) The week before Christmas there was about 5 vans there overnight. No charge in Winter, not sure about Summer.
