I'm struggling to find fuel stations who have a red diesel/gas oil pump - handy for us who have separate tanks for their diesel heaters. I think most farmers now have their own tanks with separate bulk deliverys. But maybe something to think about?

(If anyone knows any in N. Tyneside/Scottish Borders area please let me know!)

Cheers,

-G

Re. those links - Yes, I found them - nothing sensibly close. I did call my local depot (St. Boswels) - Oh yes, we have a pump. You need an account with us first - they also sounded a bit sniffy about me using it for heater in the 'van - then told me it was about 174p a liter - Zoinks! White diesel is currently 162.9 in Hawick today, so that's that.

Cheers,

-G

Most garages here do 28 sec heating oil, either at pump or 20ltr drums, red derv is being fazed out this year, im told.

Permitted use of red diesel is only for farmers and fisherman with a few other exceptions now. Another way of government creating income. Use heating oil!

I think you have answered your own question, befriending a local farmer and offering a few £ notes always works but unfortunately red like everything else has gone up.

I have looked before at adding new POI types. However, I can generally find another dedicated app with a good user base that already covers that POI type for free.

The garage as you head south on the A68 out of Tow Law has it. A Gulf outlet iirc?

So you can use Red diesel in your diesel heater? Thats great.
But why when heating oil is cheaper would you use red diesel Google says
Organisations burning red diesel in a heating application would benefit from transitioning to a specialist heating fuel. Not only do these fuels perform better in heating applications (than diesel), they currently provide a 20% cost saving

It's a bit far, but thanks.
I have found one though and will get it tomorrow.. is a Jet garage in Holystone, Newcastle. I need to fill out a form before filling up apparently..

Thanks, -G.

Not fazed out but restrictions tightened. Plant contractors for instance now are supposed to use the full tax variety. A bugger for farmers who might do a JCB "foreigner".

Went there, filled the tank. Now a happy, toasty warm camper sitting in a car park looking out at the miserable windy rain before my work shift starts later this afternoon.

Not so.the use is being cut back.
Except gritter wagons and farmers crossing roads between Fields .
Cannot be used on public roads.
Cannot be used for plant.
Cannot be used for industrial heating.
CAN be used for Domestic heating.
Last I bought 4 weeks ago £1.50 Lt in Halifax.
You may have to sign a register.
Will definitely log your number plate.
