Strange Electrical Problem

Wild camping on Isle of Purbeck last week. Awoke to an intermittent ticking from water pump. Noticed outside light on! The
control panel was on as was water pump but not outside light!? Switched pump off and light went out. So switched outside light on and pump started ticking. Took fuse out of aux lights and problem stopped. Back home disconnected control panel from above habitation door. Nothing obvious. Problem stopped, but when I went back a few days later pump started ticking again. So, do I need another new control panel?
