Well believe it or not I have not smoked a roll up or had a pipe for three weeks now and dont miss them at all.

Bought a rechargeable cigarette and charger plus 30, yes thirty refill cartidges for £6-99p on amazon and it satisfies all the nicotine craving.

Brilliant service, delivered in 48 hours!

Don't cough any more, still short of breath but hopefully that will improve in time.

Wish I had found them a few years ago.

I Can Quit

Well Done Peter!

The first three weeks are the hardest, I hope you can stick with it and kick the habit forever.

Well done. Keep it up. About 7 or 8 years now for me and I did it without the aid of anything.....so I'm sure you'll be fine. :yeahthat:

great stuff Peter, keep it up.

wife and I gave up together 6 years ago, boy was it hard without being beaten to death with a rolling pin:hammer: but, what a difference, actually tasting food again was the biggest surprise.

glad we did it

Well done Peter!

If you've been a non-smoker for three weeks now, then there is no need to be a smoker ever again!

Beware of getting to a point in the future where you think you can have "just one", because that would probably lead to just one more, and you would be back where you started!

I stopped smoking "accidentally" about ten years ago, and haven't smoked since.

At the time, a good friend of mine was trying really hard to stop, because of serious health problems and doctors warnings etc., but was finding it impossible. I saw a "stop smoking" cd-rom (also by Allen Carr) in a motorway services and bought it for him to try. When I got home I thought I'd play it, just to see what it was like. I was also a very heavy smoker then, and having an impossibly stressful time in my life, so wasn't even thinking about trying to stop. Anyway, I played the cd-rom on my computer, answering the tick-box questions as I went. I was actually smoking a cigar as I played it!

Unbelievably, before I reached the end of the cd I was a non-smoker, and more than that, I just "knew" that I would stay a non-smoker!! I had no cravings or withdrawal symptoms at all. The half-smoked cigar stayed in the ashtray for a few days and I was surrounded by my usual lighters, ashtrays etc. I went to work and mixed with people who smoked next to me, but it didn't bother me at all. If anything, I felt sorry for them for still being controlled by their addiction, when I wasn't.

If you feel you need any support at any time, just ask on here, and I'm sure we'll all try our best to help. Stopping smoking is one of the best things you will ever do, and you should be feeling very proud of yourself!!

You're doing so well! Don't say you've stopped smoking, say you are now a non-smoker. And don't say you've given up, say you've gained a better way of life and broken the chains of an addiction.
Your motorhome will smell so much nicer! :king:

Well done. I've never smoked, but I know how tough it must be.

I stopped drinking a year ago after a few years of letting it get out of hand - not really harmful drinking, but far too much and way over healthy levels. I've felt so much better since. All these addictions take their toll in the end.

Good luck with you healthier life.

Try getting your doctor to prescribe you Champix. Brilliant tablets. I had tried everything during my 45 years of smoking but gave up easily 4 years ago using these. They're not nicotine replacement but work on a different principle. You start taking them one a day while still smoking and after about a week you just stop wanting to smoke anymore! Carry on taking one a day (the course lasts for 3 months). No cravings, no desire to smoke. Unbelievably easy. I've had the occasional temptation after the 3 months were up - particularly in the pub with a pint, but nothing I couldn't handle easily. You probably need to persuade your doctor that you've tried everything else.

I definately recommend these things to any one who is trying to quit, thrown all my filters and roll up papers away and not even though about buying tobacco or cigarettes since.

Dont feel any better for it so far but then I can't get any worse now!

Peter

I gave up smoking cigarettes ten years ago, now I occasionally have a cigar, however, I don't think I'll live any longer....it'll just feel a lot longer.

Well done thats great !!!!.........I quit smoking 14 months ago and I can honestly say its the best feeling ever. I have put on weight but I can deal with that, What I couldn't deal with was allowing smoking to control my life, standing out in my garden in the pouring down rain 'madness' or what ??? Anyway keep up the good work you sound like your doing great :)

Brilliant news, funnily enough I was just thinking about you and wondering if you were successful. You won't necessarily feel any better but you will be better and richer, and those around you will be better also. After a while, I began to feel really guilty for having inflicted my smoke on other people and having wasted so much money! All the best for your smoke free future.

i smoke cheap tabacco from the EU, no way could i afford the shop prices...... yeah i could save a few quid a week, but i have no plans to live to be old and grey anyway :)

Well done. That's fantastic news and will be a decision that at times you may think why should I bother? The fact that you made the decision to quit is brilliant and shows the desire to change. That was the right choice. Again well done.

but i have no plans to live to be old and grey anyway :)

Er.....haven't you heard of the saying, 'What you confess you will posess?'....it's a bit like the more you hear
someone tell you the same thing, the more you believe it....except in this case you are telling your brain to
let your health go to hell....

A mate of mine used to smoke like a trooper and say similar things....used to think I was crazy....he died at 41 from
cancer.....I've heard of too many cases like him for this belief to be nonsense.
