Hmmmmm.... sounds like a scam to me. The spelling and grammar sound like its one of those Nigerian money scams. License fees, download links??? Yeah right!!!

There's nothing on there that you could'nt get off here for free! Maybe here is where the information was cribbed from?:eek:

Certainly looks like a scam to me guys and gals. Give them your credit card details and those 3 little numbers, and it will cost you far more than £10. Buyer beware....Bob

Going off thread a bit.........

There used to be an online database where users could contribute their "spots" and edit wrong information. The database could be exported in a .xls or csv which can then be easily converted it you want to ov2. Though an .xls file on a pocket pc would be handy for me.

Anyone know where that went? Think it may have been on the motorhome-list.

Hi, Plenty of FREE information on the internet without paying for it. Archie’s Europe – Camperplaatsen - GB motorhome parking & many others include POI converters. Check some of the older threads on this site

Yes John it was on the (original!) Motorhome List. The problem was that the member who originally agreed to co-ordinate and keep it updated didn't continue with it. It got so out of date and inaccurate that I discontinued it.

I'm a bit annoyed that this guy has used the domain motorhomelist.co.uk but there's not much I can do about it, guess I should have bought the domain name first

Actually it looks like quite an interesting piece of software, seems like the guy has put quite a bit of work into it.

The limited licence fee model is not that unusual and I don't think that there is a problem with gathering the information from outside sources, as long as he doesn't make a direct copy of it, which would be infringement of copyright.

I got a CD from Motorhome Friendly and Unfriendly Parking but it was nowhere near as sophisticated as that, it's more or less a copy of the website. cost £5 but not all the locations are accurate (on Tomtom) I suppose it depends on the accuracy of the contributor.
