Specifically Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.

Thats the draft plan at the moment. Ill want to do some Kayaking and Michelle some cliff walking so looking for wild spots (unlikely) CL sites or even basic sites (not the great big ones) by the sea or lakes in those specific counties. Ill have the scooter with us so I can carry the Kayak on that if I need to, its just nice to be able to leave it blown up by the van and just drop it in the water. Do they exist in those places?

We are (Scottish) national trust so we stay at the cr in wareham forest then drive to studland for the day which is lovely for kayaking and there is a great beach cafe up at Harry rocks end or a good pub The other place is Hive where we have stayed a few times over night and right on the beach too. There is a small NT car park that doesn’t charge (Cogland ??) near Hive where we stay en route to other places a hundred yards or so to the beach and not so sheltered I’ve never taken a kayak down there but you could check it out. In Devon you may be better off staying inland a bit overnight and going to a beach car park during the day. Although I’m not so familiar with the bit beyond Exeter

Thanks for that. I Came to the conclusion yesterday that there isn't anywhere where you can literally jump in the sea from the van. I think the only places we can do that is probably the Scottish Islands in a few wild spots we know. Because of my Arthritis I literally need to be pumping the Kayak up within twenty yards of the water. The only way I have found to do this is either by having the van by the waters edge or taking the thing on the scooter. The latter I think will be the only option down in Devon and Cornwall. So ill probably just use CL's close the coast, leave the van where it is and cart the Kayak around on the bike.

Have you checked POIs and Searchforsites?

Mainly search for sites but that was partly the reason for the post. Thought there might be a slim chance someone would know about a hidden gem with access to the sea or even a lake and might have PM'd me or posted it if it was a site or CL but it was a long shot. I dont want to get too involved with planning just yet as its not set in stone that we are going but I think I really fancy discovering something new other than Flamborough Head, the Lake District and the Scottish islands. Will probably still fit in The islands later in the summer though and possibly a few weeks up on Flamborough.

Im just fancying the Cotswolds, Somerset, Devon and maybe a bit of Cornwall. Not been to the south west for over ten years and only been in September once and the depths of winter another time. Will probably leave the push bikes at home for the south west but would want to use the Kayak.

Good few spots in North Wales if you're ever that way.

So if you have Scottish NT membership can you still use it for free parking as well as entrance to properties in England and Wales?

Also if you get to the car park at Harlyn, also near Padstow you can park right next to the beach. It used to be a fiver for the day. No overnighting though. Lovely cliff walks in that area too.

Just been looking for somewhere to park in Appledore. Devon. The car park I have found is MH friendly and you can stay overnight. Don't know what's happening the Councils down here.
