Try the waterfront. I use it. Turn left thru the town down to the river .Turn right before the old bridge towards the country park alongside the west bank of the river Fowey. Room by the riverside near old masonic hall onwards. Other vehicles park there overnight. Near shops and pubs. You can't get much further (110yds or so) as the railway bridge is only about 6ft off the road.!! Spent some days there when visiting friends. Locals OK. One let me fil my water tank even.
Nice walks along river footpath south toward Fowey.
