I know its a bit late for you now but may be of interest to others. There is a very large layby used as a lorry park just outside Swindon on the Swindon to Highworth/Letchlade road opposite the Honda Works on the A361. I driven past it many times.
Ground is Level but very pot-holed so drive on slowly. I should imagine it is noisy as many lorries park there and the road is quite busy. Approximate GPS Coordinates are: N51.59514 W1.74389
