Copying details of this theft, recently posted under "Off Topic" - this section seems more appropriate?

Our lovely campervan, Hans, was stolen from outside our flat in Tottenham last night. We are devastated, Hans is a van which we love that carries many memories for us, and which we have spent many, many hours working on.

We have reported the theft to the police, but unfortunately they are saying that there is not enough evidence to investigate.

I know it seems like a long shot, but a couple of years ago another Quirky Camper was stolen, the post was shared tens of thousands of times and 'Dave' was spotted by someone who had seen the post and retrieved by police.

Hans is a white Fiat Ducato, reg KV14 HGM (although may have been changed). He has additional windows on both sides at the front, and distinctive double “porthole” windows on the rear doors. He has 2x solar panels towards the rear of the van, and 2x roof vents, one at the front and one at the back. He has quirky camper decals on the drivers door and rear door, although these may have been removed.

The interior is custom, and particularly the plate rack is (as far as we know) unique.

He was stolen from Tottenham, but could be anywhere in the UK or even Europe by now. Please share so we can get people looking across the country.

I saw a van with two round windows at the back on the M18 yesterday morning heading towards Sheffield. I expect it must be common though.

'not enough evidence to investigate' ?
Its a fekkin theft !

My granddaughter was with a group of friends recently when a car pulled up alongside her. A girl leaned out of the window and threw a cup of liquid at her. Her arm immediately started turning red, luckily one of her fiends had a bottle of water and quickly washed the liquid from her arm. The car stayed down the road for a while watching them. Her friends knew who the girl and her boyfriend was.

She phoned my daughter who immediately drove down there. When she got there she walked towards the car which then drove at her knocking her over and then drove into another car which was another of her friends mother who had also gone down their to see what was going on. It then drove off.

The police were called and my daughter was told that it wasn't deemed important enough to attend!

Hope she takes it further Rob. Does assault depend on the weapon of choice?

But drive your car with no road tax....🐻😡

Eventually Sue we managed to get a sympathetic Policewoman who took up the case for us. The girl was interviewed and she admitted it but said it was only water. It wasn't and we offered her clothing to analyse as it smelled a sort of sickly smell a bit like nail varnish remover but they said it was too complicated to do this. Even throwing water over somebody is classed as common assault though.

The girl was cautioned. She is very well known to the police who described them as a 'vile family' but the police said any complaints against them are usually dropped.

This is the 3rd incident we have had with my grandkids and all 3 have resulted in cautions. One girl who admitted stealing £600 from my granddaughter was awarded horse riding lessons by Social Services for being honest enough to admit it. My granddaughter never got the money back and the girl and her mother taunt her in the street with comments like "We loved spending your money". The mother had used the Debit Card to buy Vodka in Tesco (video evidence). I must admit with parents like that what chance does the girl have?

Sickens me to hear stories like this. Seems the only time police actually do anything is when victims of crimes like this take revenge themselves. Then the law will come down on 'vigilante' behaviour with its full force. Its disgusting, blatantly unfair, & time things were brought back to a decent standard of fairness so we could actually feel that justice was being done...😡🐻

I really would like to know why...

That's a proper failing of the system IMO Rob 🙁

If someone did the same thing to them they would probably be arrested. The police have an irrational approach these days .
