I visited Marquis Motor home dealers at Lower Upham Hants the other day to have a look at their vans on offer and noticed a sign saying the Catalistic Converters had been removed from all the vehicles on show because of theft, apparently they had 20 Cats. stolen from the vans on sale in their yard, despite all their security devices someone had managed to steal from them. The salesman I spoke to said that their insurance company had covered the loss but did not think they would in future,

We have had the same problem and now remove all cats from vans on the forecourt, our bottom storage yard is now being refenced and razor wired.

Theft of cats is now nationwide and the police seem to do nothing, the scrap yards must know that brand new cats in quantity have been stolen.

What's in the Cats to make them worth stealing? platinum? gold?

platinum .but have you seen the price of a cat and there not that hard to remove .a few years ago the main ford dealer in leeds had all its ford transits spare wheels nicked, only hung underneath on a wire but it also slightly dammaged the rear bumper we used to do a bit of work for them and also took a lot of there older van and non ford trade ins we got the job of replacing all the rear bumpers and kept the bumpers we changed. as we sold a lot of older tranny vans they came in very usefull .
