Hello all
I am just wondering about buying an upholstery steam cleaner for the van fabric upholstery.
Has anyone used one or can recommend a certain model?
Pros and Cons?
Thanks

When we bought our van a couple of years ago, it was generally quite clean, however, the upholstery was really dirty, with ‘shiny’ patches on the seats ! We considered getting it re-upholstered but thought we would give it one chance at cleaning it. We hired a ‘Rug Doctor’ shampoo cleaning machine from our local Tesco and paid an extra £3 for the small brushes/attachments. It worked brilliantly- the upholstery came up as good as new, the nap/pile on the seats was restored perfectly too. The seats are half fabric/half fake suede style. Whilst the Rug Doctor isn’t a steam cleaner, it works at a high temperature, and obviously vacuums the dirty water out straight away, so the foam seating was not damaged at all either. Don't know what type of seats you have, but hope this helps !

We use the attachment on our Vax carpet shampooer....

There's plenty of places that rent out rug doctor type appliances

Plus one for a simple VAX machine, we have one about 10 years old for house carpets crap on carpets but great on upholstery.

Possibly cheap on eBay.

It was okay at first but then it just didn't do a good job, so it was relegated to do stairs and upholstery.
