And wine glasses too

Ours is 19' so if that's small, then we are too. But whatever, it's our only one until either it or us die :scared:

Carol, I think staying small if it suits you, is way better than upsizing.

Just think if all the places you can go the big rigs can't get! :)

And it's got to be cheaper on fuel. No, I'm quite envious.

If it wasn't for Neil I'd go solo and get myself a van that's not too big, just for ickle me too! :D

Started off with a 6.5 metre c class Swift 3 years ago. Got rid because of sh…te build quality and downsized to a 5.5 metre pvc.
Pvc great for accessing places I wouldn’t have even attempted with my previous van but miss the space and a fixed bed.
Always looking at vans and seriously considering going for a 6 metre A class in the next year or two.

Hi ya Carol,
In my view it really is a case of the old adage -
‘It’s not the size, it’s how you use it’
If you enjoy & it suits your needs, Then why Change it !.

Nuevo 5.6m (or 5.7 depending on where you get the figures) I considered going down to a PVC (looked very seriously at a WildAx) but just too small for what I do .
the Nuevo will fit in a standard parking space (just, getting a spot at the end of the row is a good idea) Im tall so the extra width of a coach built is better for bed length.

Really wouldnt want to go much longer than about 6m, for my style of useage the draw backs would outweigh the benefits

We started with a Transit Jumbo built around our dogs (we had 5 at the time including the 2 big lurcher lads....
Sadly were down to just 2 Whippet girls and the terriorist...
And it looks like one of my relations is passing on her 2004 Ducato based Sundancer 580 to us later this year...
So upsizing for us.

Because of the tricky T junction at our winter home, we're restricted to 6.2m. And can't cope with a long overhang.
The Bentley suits our lifestyle and is well made.
So we're keeping it longer than we normally would.

I think that my little Bentley will last longer than me.

Up sized i am afraid

We my wife and I started converting a high roof doblo. 1.75 wide 4.3m long and when it wore out got a newer, doblo xl 1.84 wide, by 4.7m long, shame about the width increase it is not wider on the inside, but there is storage between the skins.

sounds like claustrophobia on wheels - there is probably something in the Geneva convention about putting two people in a space that small!

Not if they're on their second honeymoon, like we are... 18¾ years and hardly a cross word.... ( from me, anyway! ).

Well it was a bit tight, but we fitted for up to 12 weeks and for 5 years with tents for backpacking bikes and their gear and inflatable packrafts and all their paraphernalia . All wild camping the occasional free aire.
On the other hand the new one is enormous! Space everywhere. The table is 1100mm long we have to have a butler to carry messages!

I love small van/car conversions like the Doblo or Berlingo etc.

Unfortunately, it would not suit my wife because of ill health, but some of the best times I have had were in a Citroen Dispatch with a roof tent. I have a small boat and love to go upriver and drop the anchor in the middle of nowhere and stay overnight, even in bad weather, it just makes the whole thing a bit more cozy. (Pack of beer, radio on, curry on the stove).

I would also love a Packraft, but I make do with a Sevlor Colorado.

we have a small camper and love it...can park up almost anywhere......would have liked a bit different layout, but manage the way it is.........just need a drive away awning for longer stays. itsuitsour needs perfectly........well, almost.....

Would love to go to a camper van, with a fixed bed, instead of our coachbuilt, but cannot warrant spending the extra dosh to get one as would want to get a newer one if we did.

We started small with a Fiat Amigo then upsized a few times until we had a 7.5M van, we found it too long with the car on the back but our present van is 6.0M and perfect

Goodness!!!, I kept that clean somehow:rolleyes2:

But we can all guess what you were thinking, as you typed, Tez.

Everything is relative. I could upsize to a small one like yours, Carol!
