Last year paid £226 , this year with 12 months NCB they want £440 ??? time to shop around any ideas

You will find everyone has their own opinions, The only way to get a good quote for you is to ring round, So many variables affect a quote.

I phoned 19 in December until I finally found someone who would do a deal that was sensible.

Yikes! I'm with Staveley Head, policy due for renewal in the summer. I always shop around at renewal time anyway, makes sense to spend a few hours getting quotes if it could potentially save you several hundred quid. Thanks for the warning.
