I've used a website called www.librivox.org to supply me with a constant stream of some great classics, they can be downloaded for free in various formats - zip, mp3, and a couple of others. You need a fast internet connection as the files are large.

All the books are well out of copyright, and they are always looking for volunteers to read a book or a chapter.

There is a links page on the site to other spoken word downloads.

I have also used the BBC World Service, Radio 4, Australian ABC Radio National sites to download radio plays and history programmes.

thanks for the info. i tried librivox.

after a couple of minutes of some bloke from texas reading Geeeeeeofrey Chaucer. i couldn't take any more.

it sounded like a recipe for disaster. i tried it & it was.

i'll stick to recording from the radio as you do roger.
