We are feeling the same.

Fan Belt and Tensioner + Labour £324.03 6 Hours wait for specialist breakdown truck as we are 7 metres long and loaded to 4600kg.

Thank you RAC Commercial it was quite an experience to ride in this monster on the narrow south lakeland roads from Millom to Barrow in Furness. The truck is normally used to recover fully loaded 44 tonners.

We were camping wild in the lakes when the fan belt went and were returning from having just filled our gas tank with 68 litres of LPG we had used this in 9 days running everything.

Truma Ultrastore boiler now leaking and we are having to have a new one fitted at £400 tomorrow.

Smart has just had its MOT today + a service £162.85

Dead cat rattle

On the way to Dover I heard the first chinking of the Dead Cat Rattle and sure enough when I pulled into Brighton to overnight and looked underneath the Catalyst thing was making a noise like a tin rattle. Looks original so at 92k miles not a great surprise I suppose.

Ford price for Front pipe/cat/flexi joint £550. Dover Quik-Fit 'Can't fit lwb transit on ramps'. Commercial garage in Deal 'Do you a favour for cash mate £525'

Rip off Britain I think - thank goodness for the net.

Checked Cats2U £130 delivered overnight for parts including gasket set or call into London fitting centre and just pay one hours labour. Fortunately I have no fixed plans so it looks like a trip to London.........when the sun stops shining that is.
