Spain and Portugal

Hi

We have been to France/Spain/Italy/Portugal/Denmark/Sweden/Czech Republic, several times by car, in summer, when we were wage slaves. We are about to retire and depart on our first Motorhome grand tour (starting out March), heading through France, to Spain and Portugal.

Any useful comments on weather expectations in Northern Spain and Portugal, would be gratefully received. Also I read in ACSI site book, that bicycles may not be carried on rear cycle carriers of motorhome in Portugal, does anyone know if this is true?

Thanks in advance.

Ken

Hello KenReay,we just got back from Portugal this morning,no problems weather wise, bit cold as you travel north but nothing to worry about. But I suggest you check the weather anyway, things can change day by day.Re carrying bikes, everyone in Portugal has bikes on the back of their van,so get your bikes loaded and enjoy yourselves, regards paddywhack.

If you carry bikes on the back of your bus in Spain or especially Portugal make sure you use one of those square marker boards with the red/white diagonal stripes.
At present, Spain is having its warmest winter in 5 years experiencing temps anywhere between 20 and 28 degrees C.

Voxy.
