After our stop in Seville, we were all geared up to do a mix of wild camping and campsites south of Seville along the coast between Portugal and Gibraltar when we spotted an offer in one of our favourite locations.

On an ACSI site rated at €23 a night in Conil they were offering €15.30 a night for a 30 night stay which included 150kw of electric and all the hot showers and hot water for dish washing that you wanted, with a low cost bar and restaurant on site and a swimming pool, and 15m walk to the beach and town.

That is around £14 a night.

We decided to go with it and delay the wild camping although there are places will will visit later that don’t have campsites.

Now the question is are there any better offers along the coastal area of southern Spain that can beat this?

(As an aside we have found some decent 2019 plonk at €1.79 at the local Aldi. And the forecast is relentless sun for the next fortnight. Thought I would mention it for those who are sticking with winter in the U.K.)

The aire at Tarifa might be worth looking at and there was also Wilding spots to the west when we were last there , which was a couple of years ago now. Nice town and great beach. Also Ronda if you have not been,up in the hills is set in magnificent nature , if its not too cold this time of year !

We do stop in Tarifa as it is one of the few places between Cádiz and Algerciras that has LPG. The only thing is the service point at the aire in the town is never working. And still isn’t judging by recent reports.

In terms of cheap sites thinking east of Gibraltar around the Malaga area although I suspect the daily rate quoted above cannot be beaten.

Yes, it is a good price with everything included . We are not familiar with Malaga area , we have stopped at Torre del Mar but it was not cheap. The other thing to be aware of is as you go North on the coast all the reports we are seeing is that the sites are full.

https://ibb.co/9WVgr1V Very big parking at Malaga, we had several nights here no facilities but huge Supermarket here for bottled water if needed used to be proper aire at the Super Market but that was closed down when we were there, Bus and train adjacent to the parking area so easy to get into central Malaga, we used the bus great place to visit and felt very safe there , also an enormous Chinese emporium next to the Parking sells everything ever invented there , my wife loves the Chinese TODOs [ Everything]

https://ibb.co/DCXp4HP After Malaga we went to Antiquera in the Mountains en route we drove through the TORCAL Mountains to the end of the road, spectacular mountains and weird rock formations must visit place, we then drove on to Antequera , there is an Aire there with all facilities but it was well stuffed so we drove a few streets from the Aire and there were vans parked everywhere OK we said this will do us so we parked up and had several nights there lovely city lots to see and do, We serviced the van at the Aire before leaving Antiquera and went on our merry way great experience .

Antiquera
In the town there is a fresh produce market with a good cafe, we had the seafood platter - very good.

The Antequera Public Market, known as Plaza de Abastos
