South Yorkshire wild spots?

Hi there, I'm heading off to Scotland next week and was looking for a good place to stop around Ripon / Harrogate way. Are there any good pubs that allow sleepovers in the area that anyone can recommend? Thanks

I have to say that this site is brilliant. It's already saved me £300 in insurance, so hats-off to all you wildcampers who contribute. :D

Hi there,

If you are stuck, there is the Dog Inn at Heighington. It is just a bit further north, just off the A1. Take the A68 left. It has a small campsite and is about £7 or £8 per night.

I put the details up last week so just search for the Dog Inn.

We are off to Scotland tomorrow and I am in a rush, getting the van retested for MOT. Must dash.:D

Coverbridge Inn

:)Go from Ripon to Masham and follow Leyburn signs. You will be 1/2 hour longer than if you follow A1 (rejoin at Scotch Corner). You will find Coverbridge between East Witton and Middleham, big car park opposite. Ask Nick or his sister-in-law Eyvonne and if you eat you'll be able to stay in carpark and you will go back, everyone does, cheers, Alan:)

By the way, Ripon and Harrogate are North Yorkshire, not South:D

I just saw this post after I left mine. Coincidences!! This pub has changed hands quite a lot recently as has the one 2 miles away called Locomotion No1(I ran it for a couple of years). An old mate of mine took on the latter last month, Chris Newby. This has a massive car park and is easy to get to. DL5 4QG tell him Fishy sent you and you have come to claim your free pint, cheers, Alan
