South West Coastal 300

I was planning to try the South West Coastal 300 in Dumfries in the next couple of weeks, wondered how feasible it is with only 4 nights, without rushing too much, just a taster really? Any recommendations or hints welcome! I’ll probably stay on a CL for the first night as I’ll be arriving quite late, thought of the John Paul Jones cottage CL at Kirkbean, but after that hoped to wild camp for the rest. Really just want some great views, good walking and peace and quiet, maybe the odd castle!

Don't know if it's on the swc300, but I'm in Garlieston just now. We're on the CAMC site because we (or rather, SWMBO) has 2 weeks laundry to catch up on. It's a charming sleepy harbour village. The pub does stopovers and there's a CL just a stone's throw away.
