This is my first post on this forum so I will begin with "Hello to you all"

We are planning on heading towards Aberystwyth then driving down the coast to st davids etc and working are way along the south bit around swansea. Planning on mainly caravan club CL's and wilding if suitable spots can be found (ie overlooking the sea close to a beach) so any reccomendations of any stops on the above route would be most welcome. Also are there any parts of the coast road that need to be avoided in a 6m coachbuilt. Any other info and or reccomendations on south wales is very welcome.

Have you looked in the database - there's a good few in there!

Hi and welcome
Mumbles Swansea. Bracelet bay next to coast guard station over looks sea and very popular for wilding.
Pembrey country park. Large car park just out side entrance. No sea view but good for walking and cycling into park where there is Cefan Sidan beach 7miles long. (no over night in the park as wardens will move you)
If you use a sat nav anywhere in Wales do not follow it blindly as you may find roads not suitable

yes if you want somewhare to park near swansea ,you wont go far wrong at mumbles the knab rock car park is ideal plenty of vans use that place on a weekend some of the roads on the coast line can be rather narrow though

Hi,

Starting from Aberystwyth heres a few suggestions for Coastal overnight stops.

Aberystwyth .. on sea front about 500metres south of the pier

Aberaeron .. turn towards the sea at the lights, turn right at the sea - pay and display carpark at the end, never any bother for overnight.

Llangranog .. narrow roads but village car park on the sea. A few quid in honesty box and a visit to the pub should do it. Arrive late, as busy in Summer.

Cardigan ..actually St Domaels ... follow signs to Poppit Sands ..large carpark next to the beach.

Newport ... head for Newport Golf Club .. good carpark with superb beach views.

Whitesands Bay ... nice carpark on the beach but I've never stayed there overnight.

Newgale .... turn into the small beach road, go past the pay and display and you'll get to a large free car park next to a cafe. very nice place to stop.

south of there Im not too sure. The gower peninsula is lovely but I've always found it difficult for wild camping ... there are a few good CLs there though near Rhosilli

enjoy the trip, cheers, Skratt

Reading with interest, as we're heading to a CL nr Tenby as a starting point, then heading further along the coast... possibly St. Davids bay; or anywhere else that people suggest as pretty parts worthy of a visit! (Please).
